Buckhead: A Colonial Revival house designed for Southern California

1 Min Read

Buckhead is a modern interpretation of white brick Colonial Revival houses. While this style is typically found around Atlanta by such architects as James Means and Neel Reid this home was designed for Los Angeles’s Brentwood neighborhood. Architect Richard Manion designed this home for a young family and adapted it to Southern California by considering the region’s climate and lifestyle. As is traditional for Colonial Revival houses the plan is designed around a classic central hall flanked by major rooms, which are formally designed with paneling, niches and classic fireplaces.
