Featured here is a Kerr Construction home in Nicasio. The Craftsman-style lodge was featured in American Bungalow. Our editorial team loved its angular shingled roofs and its large windows. We also enjoyed the unique fixtures and the custom wood finishes.

It is regarded as one of Marin County’s premier builders and specializes in complete home remodels and ground-up construction work. It is operated by a talented team of professionals who each have experience in every design and construction process phase. It has also secured relationships with some of the area’s best subcontractors—providers known for their excellent plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and roofing services. The company’s founder, Brant Hill, holds a degree in Construction Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He first gained experience working for a large commercial general contractor as a project manager. That extensive experience still reflects itself in the firm’s work today. The company maintains affiliations with important organizations like the Marin Builders Association.

Floyd Construction has been serving the entirety of Marin and other surrounding areas since 1978. Joe Floyd founded the firm in Santa Barbara before relocating to Marin County. Aside from its residential work, the firm has also taken on several commercial and landscaping projects. The firm is highly experienced and composed of some of the best professionals in the greater Bay area. Before establishing the firm, Joe Floyd gained experience working with a well-known engineering firm. That experience provided him with many skills that continue to influence the company’s work.
The new home construction above was completed in collaboration with Carol Knorpp and Kerry Bogardus. It is located in a great community in Larkspur and was specifically designed for a family of four. The project challenged the firm with the deconstruction of the original structure down to its foundation. The firm upgraded the perimeter foundation as well as new storage space under the project. Our editorial team loved its Fleetwood exterior pocket doors and clean trimless interior lines.
