The Best Residential Architects and Designers in Arlington, Texas

3 Min Read

Arlington, Texas is a relatively small city with a population of over 300,000 people. The area experiences harsh weather from April to May but enjoys mild winters. After the 2012 tornado that destroyed so many homes, many residents in this lovely town wanted to have a better, sturdier home.

Our editorial team decided to list firms in the area capable of doing the job. These firms create contemporary, modern, and even zero-energy homes that use reusable energy for the house, lessening its impact on the environment. In constructing this list, we took into account the accreditations, awards, features, and the number of years the firm has been in the industry.

Allen Architecture

1227 W. Magnolia Ave. Suite 202 Fort Worth, TX 76104

Before establishing the firm, Bradon Allen graduated from the University of Texas School of Architecture. He would later work for a small, multidisciplinary firm in Fortworth, tackling different types of projects. After ten years he set off on his own and founded Allen Architecture in 2012. The firm has received accreditation from the AIA and has been featured in Culture Map, the Fort Worth Business Press, and EntreArch

The firm completed this beautiful, cozy home. It exudes a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere that includes an elegant exterior and interior. The exterior has a wide-open space with a beautiful structured garden and garage. It also includes a lovely deck area by the garden where people can relax and unwind. The home makes an excellent first impression with its vibrant, bright ambiance, which creates a welcoming atmosphere. The home has a calm, laid back atmosphere in the interior as well. The overall design emphasizes sophistication, manifested by the artworks and furniture.

Armando Cobo, Designer

6428 Stone Creek Ter Fort Worth, TX 76137

The firm was founded in 1985 by Armando Cobo. He has over 35 years of experience. The firm has designed over 500 homes and built over 200 of them. The firm aims to produce zero energy homes for more people to reduce the impact the building process has on the environment. The firm follows guidelines from green institutions like the Zero Energy Ready Home, The Building America Program,  Build Green New Mexico, National Home Builders Association’s Green Building Program, and the LEED for Homes Program.

This traditional, contemporary style home is a project the firm completed recently. The exterior is relatively unique with the red brick wall design, but it has tall pillars by the entrance, which gives some regal ambiance to the entire house. It’s a multi-level home, and the addition of the white roofing and pillars was a great way to further enhance the look of the house.

2570 River Park Plaza Suite 100 Fort Worth, TX 76116

Gerald Schwarz and Tod Hanson founded the firm in 1995. The firm services a number of markets, including residential, commercial, hospitality, and religious. The exterior includes an elegant pool with underwater lights, a bbq area, a patio, and open balconies/decks. The balcony on the second floor has its own jacuzzi for maximum relaxation. The interior is stunning, including the kitchen’s marbled island and white cabinetry. The living room, bedroom, and office are all designed with elegance in mind: bright lights, beautiful furniture, and sophisticated structures.
