Okland Construction

Established in 1918, Okland Construction is a family-owned full-service general contractor that offers its services in the Southwest and Mountain States. The firm specializes in construction management and design-build projects. It has three main offices in Arizona, Utah, and Idaho. 

Oakland Construction has experience in building healthcare, higher education, municipal, commercial mixed-use, and technology projects. The firm’s CEO is Bill Okland, who obtained his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Utah; the president is Randy Okland. 

In 2022, the firm won Commercial Project of the Year, Entertainment Project of the Year, and Project of the Year from Utah Construction & Design (UC&D). In the same year, the firm brought home awards from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), including the Industrial Project of the Year, the Overall Building Award, and the Retail Project of the Year. One of the notable projects by Okland Construction is the 95 South State Office Tower in Salt Lake City. The project received the 2022 UC&D Project of the Year, the AGC Office Project of the Year, and the ENR Office Retail Mixed-Use Award. The 25-story office building was completed in 2022 and features 27-foot glass walls, an open lobby on the ground floor, and a rooftop terrace on the fifth floor.


Jacobsen Construction

Jacobsen Construction is a Salt Lake City-based general contractor that was established in 1922. The firm has grown into one of the leading general contractors in the country and has expertise in commercial, healthcare, higher education, civic, technology, historic renovation, and religious projects. 

The firm is led by the president and CEO Gary Ellis, who finished his master’s in accounting from Brigham Young University (BYU) and is a certified public accountant. The 101 Tower in Salt Lake City is our featured project by Jacobsen Construction. It received the 2014 Best Office Project of the Year from AGC Utah. The 146,000-square-foot project was completed in 2014 and includes seven floors, a 300-stall parking space, and 3,000 square feet of retail area on the ground floor.


Layton Construction

Since 1953, Layton Construction has grown into a top-ranking national commercial construction firm. The firm has experience working on projects throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe as part of the STO Building Group. 

The president and CEO of the firm is David S. Layton, who obtained his degree in civil engineering from BYU and an executive management certificate from Harvard University Business School. Layton previously served as the national director for AGC and is currently a member of the American Concrete Institute. 

In 2019, the firm won the Diamond Safety Award from the AGC of Utah as well as the Manufacturing Project of the Year and Cultural/Worship Project of the Year from ENR. PR Newswire, Utah Business Magazine, and Structure Magazine have all featured the firm’s impressive projects.

R&O Construction Inc.

The president and CEO of the firm is Slade Opheikens, who joined the firm in 1987 and climbed his way up to his current position. He finished a bachelor’s degree in construction management from BYU and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP).  

In 2022, the firm won the Award of Merit and Perfect Score Award from the Utah Safety Council. On top of that, the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) gave R&O Construction the Champion of the Year and General Contractor of the Year awards. Our featured by R&O Construction is The Kimball on Main, located in Park City. It was awarded the Best Retail Project over $5 million by ABC and it won the Most Outstanding Projects Award granted by UC&D. The 14,500-square-foot project perfectly combines historical and contemporary architecture. The original Kimball Garage was upgraded into a new concrete and steel structure that houses retail stores, restaurants, and a public events space.


Kier Construction

Since its establishment in 1986, Kier Construction has grown from a small family-owned firm into an experienced construction company in the Intermountain West. The firm’s team of talented professionals has worked on a variety of projects, everything from interior renovations to custom builds. 

The firm is led by president Clint Costley, who has more than 25 years of industry experience. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in technical sales from Weber State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Utah. He was a previous board member of ABC Utah and the International Council of Shopping Centers. 

In 2022, Kier Construction won the Most Outstanding Projects Award from Utah Construction and Design Magazine. Meanwhile, in 2017, it was ABC’s Excellence in Construction Winner in the Multi-Family over $5 million category. Besides that, Kier Construction’s work has been included in publications such as Building Design + Construction, The Salt Lake Tribune, and Construction Review.

Our featured project by Kier Construction is The Harvest at Marmalade in Salt Lake City. It is a LEED Silver-certified mixed-used project that consists of 252 residential units with two floors of an enclosed parking garage at the bottom.


Raykon Construction
